Directions to the NJ Gem Show

The Fall 2024 New Jersey Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show is happening now at the NJ Expo Center in Edison, NJ.

Getting to the NJ Expo Center is easy with multiple transportation options available. Whether you’re driving, taking a train, or flying in, these simplified directions will help you reach your destination smoothly. Follow the guide below for step-by-step instructions from various starting points.

By Car

From Route 1 & 9 Southbound:

  • Take the “Bonhamtown” exit onto Main Street and continue for half a mile.
  • At the traffic light, turn left onto Route 514 East (Woodbridge Avenue).
  • Turn right at the Sheraton Hotel entrance into Raritan Center and follow the signs for the EXPO HALL.

From Route 1 Northbound:

  • After crossing the Raritan River Bridge, stay in the right lane.
  • Pass “Open Road Honda” and take the third exit for Route 514/Woodbridge Avenue.
  • Drive for 3-4 miles, then turn right at the Sheraton Hotel into Raritan Center. Follow the signs for the EXPO HALL.

From Route 287 South:

  • Take Route 287 South to Route 514 West, marked “Raritan Center.”
  • Follow the jug handle on the right to the traffic light, then follow the signs for the EXPO HALL within the Industrial Park.

From the NJ Turnpike (North & South):

  • Take Exit 10 on the NJ Turnpike.
  • Bear right after the toll booth and follow signs for Route 514 West to Raritan Center.
  • Take the first exit marked “Raritan Center” and follow signs to the EXPO HALL.

From the Garden State Parkway Southbound:

  • Use Exit 129, then take Route 287 North to Route 514 West.
  • Take the first exit marked “Raritan Center” and follow the signs posted for the EXPO HALL.

From the Garden State Parkway Northbound:

  • Use Exit 127 and follow Highway 287N/440S to Route 514 West.
  • Take the first exit to Raritan Center and follow signs to the EXPO HALL.

From Route 35 & Route 9 North:

  • Cross the Driscoll Bridge, then bear right at the end.
  • Take the second exit labeled “Raritan Center/Riverview Drive.”
  • Stay in the far right lane and take the Raritan Center Exit.
  • Continue to the second light, turn right onto Parkway Place, then turn left onto Raritan Center Parkway. Follow signs for the EXPO HALL.

From Route 278 Westbound:

  • Take the Goethals Bridge into New Jersey, and follow the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 10.
  • Bear right after the toll booth and follow Route 514 West to Raritan Center.
  • Take the first exit marked “Raritan Center” and follow the signs for the EXPO HALL.

From Brooklyn & Staten Island Via Outerbridge:

  • Take the Staten Island Expressway (RTE 278) and cross the Outerbridge into New Jersey.
  • Exit onto Route 514 West towards Bonhamtown and follow the signs for Raritan Center and the EXPO HALL.

From Brooklyn & Staten Island Via Goethals Bridge:

  • Cross the Goethals Bridge and follow signs to the New Jersey Turnpike South.
  • Take Exit 10 and bear right after the toll booth onto Route 514 West to Raritan Center.
  • Take the first exit to Raritan Center and follow signs for the EXPO HALL.

By Plane

Flying into Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is the closest major airport to the NJ Convention Center (NJCEC). Other nearby airports include New York’s LaGuardia, JFK International, Atlantic City International, and Philadelphia International.

Once at EWR, you can use the AirTrain, which is free between terminals. The AirTrain operates every 3 minutes (or every 15 minutes between midnight and 5 AM). From the airport, you have several options, including taxis, rideshares, or trains, to reach the NJ Expo Center.

By Train

From Newark Airport:

  • Take the AirTrain to the Newark Liberty International Airport Rail Link Station (a $5.50 fee applies).
  • Purchase a NJ Transit ticket to Edison, Metro Park, or Metuchen Stations ($11.50-$13.75 one way for adults).
  • From these stations, take a cab or rideshare service to the NJ Expo Center.

From New York City:

  • Take NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor Line from Penn Station.
  • Stops include Edison, Metro Park, or Metuchen. A short cab or rideshare ride will be required to reach the Expo Center.

Long Distance Travelers: If coming from a greater distance, you may prefer Amtrak to reach the area. Amtrak schedules and reservations are available online. Depending on your route, a transfer to NJ Transit may be needed.

By Bus

For those taking public transit, the closest bus stops are:

  • Newfield & Fernwood
  • Fieldcrest & Northfield
  • Raritan Center Pkwy & McGraw Dr.

From these stops, it’s a short walk to the Expo Center.
